2026 Atlantic Boccia Challenge - Halifax Nova Scotia

Boccia in the Atlantic region is growing!

Thank You Athletes and Volunteers!

On 16 May 2026, West Bedford High School in Halifax was the host site for the inaugural Atlantic Boccia Challenge, bringing together athletes from New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia for a full day of competition. The event marked an important milestone for the growth of Boccia in the Atlantic region, with strong participation and performances from the athletes.

Throughout the day, competitors rose to the occasion, demonstrating both technical ability and sportsmanship. The atmosphere in the gym was positive and energetic, contributing to a welcoming environment for athletes, families, and spectators.

A key part of the event’s success was the outstanding contribution of volunteers. Many of the Nova Scotia volunteers were supporting a Boccia competition for the first time, and their enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Their efforts are sincerely appreciated.

Boccia Nova Scotia extends its gratitude to Boccia Canada and Sport Nova Scotia for their generous financial and staff support, which played a vital role in making this inaugural event possible. In addition, special thanks are owed to Easter Seals Nova Scotia, whose support was instrumental in bringing the event to life.

Congratulations to all athletes for their outstanding performances. The success of this first Atlantic Boccia Challenge highlights the strength and potential of the sport in the region, and there is great anticipation for future events!
